Project: Within Our Reach

Come play in the dome to see your future - It’s not the end of the world!

Sphere concept image exteriorWithin Our Reach will be a fully immersive interactive experience that will provide youth across the country with the opportunity to discover, try out and share solutions that revitalize our future by eradicating human greenhouse gas emissions, implementing regenerative agricultural practices and enhancing biodiversity. With the support of our partners, the Within Our Reach experience will travel across Canada in an all-electric tour starting in 2027, in the form of a dome-shaped inflatable immersive environment.

Electrify - gameplay sample imageAs an early look at what Within Our Reach could be, the Opt2Refuture team has produced our first game, ‘Electrify’, an interactive experience that challenges players to eradicate fossil fuel electricity generation and gas-guzzling vehicles and to build a community that is sustained by renewable energy. Come try it at the Grey Roots Museum & Archives, throughout summer 2026.

Opt2Refuture is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to inspire youth and communities to take action to enhance individual and community wellbeing and protect Canada’s environment. Everyone, but especially youth are struggling with anxiety about their own future and the future of our planet. In a 2023 study, Seventy eight percent of 16 to 25 year-olds surveyed reported that their feelings about climate change were impacting their mental health (Galway and Field). This same study concluded that 6 in 10 young Canadians believe that the Canadian education system should do more to educate them about climate change. To address these critical issues that our young people are facing, we are launching our first climate education project, “‘Within Our Reach: come play in the dome to see your future - It’s not the end of the world!”

Join us on our cross-Canada tour as we support the agency of our next generation and work together towards a positive future for all. Contact us (below) for more information or to offer support. Look for us as we come to your community!
